What is CBO?

Campaign Structure

In plain English: One budget for the whole campaign. Meta moves the money to whichever ad set is winning.

Campaign Budget Optimization. You set the budget at the campaign level; Meta allocates it across adsets automatically toward whichever is converting. Efficient for scaling but problematic for testing, one adset will eat all the spend and starve your other angles of data.

Why it matters: CBO is the right tool for scaling proven winners. ABO is the right tool for testing new angles. Confusing them costs real money, either through inefficient scaling or through data-starved testing.

Running CBO for initial product testing. Your top-spending angle steals the budget, starving every other angle. You end up with one over-tested angle and four data-starved ones, and you call it a "full test."
